Wyatt love

Have you ever seen anybody cuter, really? This here is my little nephew boy, Wyatt. My sister, Brittni, wanted me to take a few pictures of him yesterday morning. It was seriously such a treat for me. You can't really walk away from a shoot with this little love and not have about a million great photos to look through. He is constantly in smiles.

These were just a few of my favorites from our time together...because there were several and it was hard to choose which to share. When you are this cute, somehow the camera loves you all up.

Doesn't he look like a little model? I just want to pluck him out of these pictures for a squeeze and kiss.
Thanks so much sister for letting me capture a piece of the wonder of this little soul. It was such a sweet experience for me to do this with you guys and I really hope that you love them!

Tatum continued!

Hey guys! Thanks for all your encouragement with this shoot. It was kind of nerve wracking for me to post stuff up here and I was having doubts about it all day after I did it! Reading your thoughts and support has been so encouraging for me...so I thank you so much for that!
I wanted to share some more of sweet Tatum, just because she is too cute not to! These were a few more of my favorites from that day.

I had a great time working through these images and I really hope that I captured a tiny bit of that beautiful spirit.
Thanks again guys!

Sin City

Just a few pics I took while in Las Vegas (or "Lost Wages" as my grandpa calls it)! We walked up the strip on Sunday and got to take in some of the sights. It was a quick trip but we had a lot of fun!

sweet, sweet Tatum

I had the privilege of photographing this little love bug yesterday morning. It was so much fun for me!!! I rolled awake in bed and saw that it was totally overcast and windy that morning. I wasn't sure what would come out of our shoot, but I was pleasantly surprised to scroll through the images and find some that I really love of her! I guess when you have eyes like hers, anything will turn out lovely! I have been totally getting lost in her big browns as I go through the pictures. What a beauty!

It really was windy and a bit cold...but she was such a trooper through the entire thing. What I love about this little one is that you can see her mind constantly turning and discovering. A very CURIOUS and studious babe. She had a lot to explore with her new surrounding and so it made for some wonderful shots of her "curious" expressions. She has several! She was especially interested in why the strange lady was following her with a camera!:)

A few of the many expressions of Tatum:

(isn't this expression just so sweet and innocent???)

(i LOVE this no nonsense look...and look at those pouty lips!)

(those eyes!)

Tatum was there with her equally beautiful and wonderful mama, Jaclyn. We managed to get just a few of the two of them together. She really loves her mama, it is so evident!

I think this was one of her first experiences with sand and play equipment, both of which I got to document a little bit of. I loved this pic of her tootsies. What is it about baby feet that make them so irresistible?

And this one of her playing with some bubbles is one of my most favorite! She has such bright, steady energy. I thought this captured some of her joy.

So, there is a little preview of my session with Tater.
I have quite a bit more to work through (yay!) and I am having such a great time with that too!

Thank you so much Jaclyn and Tatum for a wonderful experience and for giving me such beauty to practice on!

baby blues

It seems to happen fairly often...a little slice of time right at the cusp of the evening where Journey and I venture out into the backyard for some one on one time together as big brother takes a late nap.
I usually always break out my camera for part of it because I feel like I get to see a side to her where she is in her own world, unrestricted and free of competition.
Today I also wanted to get a little bit of practice with my camera since I haven't really picked it up for over a week.
This time of day always proves to be delicious because of the light. For reasons beyond my comprehension, her eyes seem to absorb every morsel of sunlight and reflect it with brilliance.
I love her eyes and so I tried to capture what they communicate in some of these pictures.
Don't they speak worlds?

taking off

This may be the beginning of a heartfelt journey for me. I am starting this blog as just another way to help manifest something for my life in the realm of photography. There has been a slight relationship forming and evolving over the past few years between me and photography. I am very curious to see how it may grow...or how it may not. It seems to be a place where I readily express my creativity and where I grow in creative thinking. For that, I am super thrilled about. I enjoy having a camera in my hand and trying to capture the moments that make up our lives.
I certainly don't have a "plan" per say on where I want this to go or what I plan on doing with it. I just know that it is a form of expression that I am very curious about and one in which I believe holds a lot of space for growth and renewed energy. It is one outlet that I am committed to exploring and one that, for me, brings great joy along the way.
This little blog is intended to be a place where I can share the pictures I take as I walk the expedition. At this point, I am just eager for experience and knowledge. I am hoping to gather enough of both to build up some sort of portfolio where I can not only see how my mind has expanded and where practice has paid off; but also where I can show the "work" I have done in hopes of attracting an abundance of further opportunity. I'll be posting my own personal shots that somehow speak to my heart and I will also be posting various photos from shoots I will be taking part in to gain experience. Perhaps, by doing so, I will be led to new paths and heightened creative energy.
Here's to new beginnings!
